Bad things happen to good people.

Most of us have had bad things happen to us at some time in our lives.

Most of us have had bad things happen to us at some time in our lives. And it's very likely that more bad things will happen in our future. I myself have had to learn over the years that just because someone was good and kind it didn't protect them from bad things or unkind, unpleasant people. There are people in the world that take pleasure in harming others. It brings them satisfaction. This is a fact. However, we don't have to keep re-living this over and over. It happened. We know it happened but if we keep reliving it in our minds, whatever it is, then it keeps happening to us over and over again and that just isn't healthy.

We need to find a way within ourselves that, in spite of this, to move on. We don't let whatever it is, or was, own the next year or years of our lives. We need to acknowledge that these things have happened to us and its possible they have made us stronger. We are a mixture, a combination of everything that has happened to us. All of it. The good, the bad and the ugly. Let's not give too much headspace to the negative things that have happened. Let's not let these occupy the space we have inside ourselves for happiness and peace.
