We read a lot and hear a lot about what we need to do to have the life that we want. In this, we need to remember to take personal responsibility in all areas of our lives.

Affirmations work and they are great to use but just putting positive statements around our home isn't enough. We have to take action to make positive changes in our lives. No-one is going to do it for us and just meditating isn't going to make it happen.

I'm working with someone right now who, a few years ago, watched the film The Secret. After watching that film he decided to quit his job because he wasn't happy working there.He then didn't have a job, didn't have any money coming in and the bills didn't get paid. He had it in his head that meditation and doing affirmations all day, every day, and visualising the cheques coming through his door is all that he needed to do.

He ended up losing everything. Life just doesn't work that way - but wouldn't it be great fun if it did?Enjoy these positive books and films but also take personal responsibility. The perfect man might not show up at your front door but that doesn't mean he isn't out there!

It's the same with the perfect job, the perfect size and weight. Have an idea, a goal, in mind and then do everything to work towards it. And yes that does include affirmations!
